Job Summary
Greet users, participants, and spectators at the front entrance, respond to inquiries, and direct them to appropriate areas. Clean and disinfect dressing rooms, common areas, public spaces, and washrooms before and after group arrivals, replenish supplies, empty garbage, and sweep mops stands and lobbies between games. Assist operators with ice maintenance, including moving nets, filling Zambonis, and performing winter maintenance like shoveling snow and salting entrances. Collect user fees, supervise patrons during public skating, patrol to ensure safety, model proper skating etiquette, and ensure proper documentation for accidents. Set up and take down tables and chairs for functions, assist with scheduled rentals and events, and follow Township policies and safe operating procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 16 years of age or older
- Completion of Grade 10
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR C
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to successfully train in new duties is required
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays or events when required
- Must be available to work evenings, late nights, weekends and/or holidays and events as needed
- Criminal Record Check, including vulnerable sector screening, is required
Desired Qualifications
- Resourceful and technically oriented, cleaning and facility experience is considered an asset
- Related experience to cleaning, customer service, and the hockey environment is an asset
- Demonstrated skating ability including the ability to skate for extended periods of time
- Self-motivated, positive, confident, and approachable
- Knowledge of or previous experience working with various cleaning supplies and equipment is an asset
- Respectful of diverse opinions and perspectives
- Committed to quality customer service and innovation, high standard of public relations
- Excellent interpersonal, mediation, and conflict resolution skills
