Job Summary

Directs and supervises subordinate managers, staff, and independent representatives to fulfill administrative and professional selling responsibilities within the Heart Failure sales area. Recruits, selects, and retains a diverse staff while providing career coaching, growth, and personal development through critiques, instruction, and mentorship. Plans and manages the sales effort by analyzing records, determining market potential, and preparing annual forecasts and expense estimates. Develops and implements market penetration strategies in coordination with the Divisional Vice President and recommends sales policies for the assigned area. Maintains contact with major accounts, resolves high-level operational issues, and defines the scope of responsibility for the sales territory. Requires up to 50% business travel and 75% travel time, with a base pay range of $168,800 to $311,800.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field
  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree plus sixteen years of progressively more responsible medical device or related sales experience
  • Minimum of six years of demonstrated experience at a supervisory/managerial level
  • Seasoned judgment acquired through organizational experience and achievements in the medical sales profession
  • Comprehensive ability to analyze and evaluate technologically complex devices
  • Ability to work with and direct others effectively
  • Ability to prepare and present effectively written and verbal communications
  • Thorough familiarity with medical device industry policies, operations, and procedures
  • Comprehensive ability to effectively prioritize development projects using customer input
  • Documented record of delivering strategic marketing information which adds value to management's decision-making process
  • Expert verbal and written communication
  • Expert interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Documented working knowledge of frequently used personal computer programs and applications, such as, Microsoft Office
  • Considerable amount of business travel, up to 50%
  • Advanced and comprehensive understanding of Heart Failure Technology

Desired Qualifications

  • Professional training/education certification or designation
  • Advanced credential, such as an MBA in a relevant discipline/concentration
