Job Summary
Area Superintendent (Southwest Region) responsible for supervising a defined project area, driving field management across schedule, budget, safety, quality, and personnel development. Oversees field engineers, safety compliance, craft supervision, trade partner coordination, scheduling, material handling, daily reports, quality control, and craft training. Ensures site safety plans are enforced, collaborates with trade partners, maintains project scheduling (four-week outlook), and tracks cost/production records. Develops material handling and site utilization plans, coordinates with project engineers on RFIs, and manages the punch list process to achieve owner turnover with high quality and customer service. Builds and maintains relationships with the owner, architect, engineer, and trade partners, and assists BIM and VDC teams to resolve submittal issues and keep the project on schedule. Physical demands include moderate work with lifting, walking, standing, climbing, and exposure to varied environments. Strong candidates will have a 4-year degree in a relevant field, 5-6 years of large commercial construction experience, a valid driver’s license, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Prolog, Primavera, and AutoDesk Suite; OSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid certifications are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management
- Minimum of 5-6 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects
- Valid Driver’s License
- Strong communication skills
- Computer software - Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel-based templates, Prolog, Primavera and the AutoDesk Suite
- Experienced in construction layout, blueprint reading and shop drawing reading
