Job Summary
Paraprofessional, SPED role within DeKalb County School District: supports teachers in meeting educational, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students in the classroom and community; provides small group and/or individualized instruction per lesson plans; assists with classroom management, assessments, and materials organization; requires completion of college-hours threshold or HS diploma/GACE with certification; must obtain SP-C approved paraprofessional certificate; in-person school-based duties in DeKalb County, GA.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of college courses completed with GPA 2.0 or higher from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university
- High school diploma/GED and a passing score on the Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE) Paraprofessional Assessment is required
- Must obtain valid Professional Standards Commission approved paraprofessional certificate
