Area Sales Representative (Japan)

Job Summary
Full-time Area Sales Representative for Japan to join our Swiss headquarters and support expansion of the Japanese market. Build relationships with key customers in academia and industry, identify and pursue new business opportunities, train and support the local distributor, conduct product demonstrations and scientific discussions at meetings and conferences, support marketing activities, handle quotations and order follow-ups, and prepare accurate sales forecasts and activity reports. Requires native-level Japanese, professional English, a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related life-sciences field, 1–2 years of sales or electrophysiology experience, strong communication skills, ability to work with distributors, independence with collaboration, and up to 30% travel (Japan and international). EU residence permit is required.
Required Qualifications
- Native or bilingual Japanese proficiency and professional-level English
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Neuroscience, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, or a related field
- 1–2 years of sales experience or hands-on knowledge in electrophysiology (e.g., patch-clamp, MEA, neural assays)
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
- Motivation to work with distributors and customers in a dynamic, fast-growing environment
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with the global sales team
- Availability to travel up to 30% (Japan and international)
- EU residence permit required
