Job Summary
Area Sales Manager for a group of hotels overseeing group and corporate sales initiatives. Responsibilities include soliciting group guest rooms and preferred corporate sales needs, generating leads, creating bookings, confirming and arranging group and corporate needs in writing, achieving monthly personal room and revenue sales goals, conducting local and out-of-town sales calls, attending local/state/regional trade shows, representing properties in industry organizations, maximizing yield, occupancy and ADR, and managing sales activities. Requires 2-4 years of hotel sales experience, knowledge of hotel operations and industry standards, proficiency with MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint and email systems, ability to plan and direct a team, and strong relationship-building skills.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of hotel sales experience
- Knowledge in all aspects of hotel operations and industry standards
- Professional, goal oriented and motivated
- Thorough knowledge of computer systems: i.e. MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and electronic scheduling and e-mail systems
- Ability to plan, organize and direct the activities of a group of employees
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize well to meet deadlines
- Behaves with integrity, honesty and is open with guests and fellow associates
- Develops effective working relationships with fellow associates, managers, outside representatives and agencies
