Job Summary
Area Sales Manager for Surface Stormwater responsible for managing all sales activities within the assigned region (Boston, MA and Manchester, NH) and for creating/executing an approved business plan. Key duties include monitoring territory sales performance, exceeding budgets, overseeing distributor performance, leading weekly sales-team reviews, identifying/closing major projects, using tools like Microsoft Dynamics, preparing submittal packages after PO receipt, establishing specifications with Architects/Engineers/Design-Build firms, translating customer requirements to internal teams, providing marketing with photos and project worksheets, assisting with customer problem resolution, participating in regional budget planning, attending/tradeshow setup, and driving ~80% travel. Essential competencies include collaboration, organizational/time management, communication proficiency, technical capacity, initiative, and influence. Education requirement is a Bachelor's degree or related experience, with strong emphasis on ability to read blueprints, present information, and use MS Office; travel and driving requirements are noted.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to use MS Office software programs
- Be able to manage data files efficiently
- Be able to take photographs of products, product installations etc.
