Job Summary
Area Sales Manager – Adjacent Offline Payments at Paytm responsible for driving business growth across the assigned territory by leading field sales teams and expanding merchant acquisition and engagement. Drive sales across EDC/POS terminals, Soundbox, Payment Gateway, EMI, and Merchant Loans; build and maintain merchant relationships; achieve and exceed sales targets; develop market penetration strategies; develop product expertise in EDC/POS, payment gateway, Soundbox, EMI, and merchant lending products; manage full sales lifecycle from lead generation to deal closure; monitor market intelligence and provide actionable go-to-market insights; deliver accurate forecasting and regular business reviews; collaborate cross-functionally with Growth, Sales Operations, Product, and Merchant Support; lead field-focused initiatives with a 75% field and 25% office engagement model; expects 7+ years of leadership experience and a background in payments/fintech; educational requirement is Graduation or Post-Graduation.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of leadership experience in EDC/POS Sales, Fintech, Financial Services, Insurance Sales, FMCD Distribution
- Proven experience in building and scaling sales teams
- Strong expertise in field sales and distribution management
- Ability to set, track, and achieve aggressive business targets
- Experience conducting daily, weekly, and monthly sales reviews
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing large territories and multi-location operations
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
- High ownership mindset with strong execution capabilities
