Job Summary
As Area Sales Manager for Nephrology in the Washington, DC region, you will execute all aspects of sales, market development, and strategic planning for company products. You will engage with nephrology care teams in office, hospital, and dialysis settings across the DC metro, Northern VA, Richmond, Baltimore, and Western PA, promoting the portfolio to nephrologists, nurses, pharmacists, renal dietitians, and health-system staff. Daily travel within your territory is required. Responsibilities include promoting product knowledge, analyzing sales performance, maintaining up-to-date call records, representing the company professionally, and collaborating with Commercial partners. The role emphasizes building strong relationships within marketplace networks, advancing disease-state knowledge, and driving forward territory-specific business plans. A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in pharmaceutical sales (with nephrology/renal/dialysis experience preferred) are expected, with a demonstrated track record as a top sales performer and account-based selling expertise.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years’ experience selling in the pharmaceutical industry (highly preferred in Nephrology, Renal, and/or Dialysis)
- Proven track record as a top sales performer
- Demonstrated knowledge of account-based selling
- Account management experience navigating in a complex, competitive marketplace
