Job Summary
Area Sales Manager will execute sales, market development, and strategic planning for nephrology products within a defined territory (Washington DC, Northern VA, Richmond, Baltimore, and Western PA). Daily travel within the assigned territory is required. Responsibilities include calling on nephrologists, health systems, dialysis organizations and staff to promote company products; demonstrating disease-state knowledge and product knowledge; maintaining up-to-date call records; and collaborating with Commercial partners to achieve sales goals. The role requires engaging diverse healthcare professionals, promoting portfolio benefits, and adjusting business plans based on performance data.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years’ experience selling in the pharmaceutical industry (highly preferred in Nephrology/Renal/Dialysis)
- Proven track record as a top sales performer
- Demonstrated knowledge of account-based selling
- Account management experience navigating in a complex, competitive marketplace
- Renal/ Dialysis/ Nephrology/ Specialty pharma/ Rare Disease/ Hospital sales experience (preferred)
- Experience with IDN systems (highly preferred)
