Job Summary
Manage a team of at least 5 Mortgage Loan Originators by providing candid performance feedback, coaching, and recruiting new loan officers. Drive personal and team production through local and Bancorp reporting, KPIs, and strategic business plan reviews. Develop referral relationships with realtors, builders, and Financial Center personnel while monitoring compliance with state and federal regulations. Serve as an intermediary for loan issues with processing and underwriting managers to ensure high customer service standards. Build a sales-focused environment that prioritizes risk management and continuous improvement in systems and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2-4 years residential mortgage sales experience
- In-depth knowledge of conventional, government, and portfolio guidelines
- Knowledge of residential mortgage processing, underwriting and closing procedures
- Knowledge of federal lending regulations governing real estate lending
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, teamwork, and customer service skills
- Ability to analyze policies, procedures, and guidelines in a way that maximizes productivity but protects the level of risk desired
- In-depth sales technique/sales coaching skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, people, and diplomacy skills
- Ability to multi-task and to be flexible
- PC proficient in Windows based software programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Mortgage origination systems and automated decisioning tools
- Ability to motivate team, work independently, manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment
- S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS)
Desired Qualifications
- Two/Four-year college degree
- Previous management experience
