Job Summary
Area Sales Manager responsible for expanding Husk Mini Grids sales footprint in Nigeria and across sub-Saharan Africa, leading a sales team, and driving revenue growth. Role focuses on strategic vision for Hybrid Minigrids sales, managing sales operations, forecasting targets (monthly, quarterly, yearly), market research across Husk sites and potential sites, development of sales strategy and customer segmentation, and collaboration with Heads of other business units. Key responsibilities include mentoring team members, negotiating solutions, ensuring best practices are entrenched, coordinating stakeholder relationships, and providing regular reporting on sales management, pipeline development, and market conditions. Travel to Nigeria and other operational locations is expected; location is based in Nasarawa State, with regular travel. Requirements include 7+ years of sales experience (energy sector preferred), a related degree (bachelor’s or higher), and strong leadership and data-analytic capabilities; salary is negotiable based on experience.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of relevant sales experience
- 2-4 years in a similar role within the energy sector
- Graduate from a leading institution with a related degree in Sales, Business Management, and marketing
- Postgraduate degree in business and/or related professional qualifications (a plus)
- Excellent problem-solving and forecasting abilities
- MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint; project management tools experience
- Knowledge of the power sector in Nigeria (a plus)
- Strong relationship management and data analysis skills
- Ability to lead and develop a high-performing sales team
