Job Summary
Area Sales Manager – General Trade responsible for driving sales growth, distribution expansion, and demand generation for the Home Care portfolio within the Consumer Business Group. Own territory performance with distributor management, outlet-level activation, and execution excellence across Chennai and Tamil Nadu markets. Key duties include achieving ABP targets, driving secondary sales, ensuring product availability and correct in-store placement, managing distributors and wholesalers, planning and executing trade programs and promotions, monitoring distribution metrics, and maintaining strong relationships with top GT outlets. Requires extensive field travel, data-driven decision-making, and strong relationship management with retailers and distributors.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline (BA / BCom / BSc) or equivalent
- 5–10 years of sales experience in FMCG / Home Care / Consumer Products
- Strong exposure to General Trade and distributor-led markets
- Hands-on experience managing Chennai and Tamil Nadu trade environments
- MBA / PGDM in Sales & Marketing preferred
