Job Summary
Area Safety Representative focused on construction-site safety with responsibilities including conducting new-employee orientations, delivering training on fall protection, confined spaces, PPE, First Aid/CPR, Hazard Communication; writing and updating site-specific safety policies; ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations; leading incident investigations and documenting lessons learned; performing jobsite safety inspections and PPE inspections; and facilitating safety training for field personnel across projects in Cincinnati, Saxonburg, and the Pittsburgh region. Requires travel to job sites, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and a strong emphasis on promoting an employee-centered safety culture.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of safety experience in general construction or BS in Safety with 3 years relevant experience
- 30-hour OSHA Construction safety class or equivalent
- OSHA 500 Trainer and First Aid CPR Instructor preferred
- 5+ years of safety experience in civil infrastructure and heavy highway construction preferred
- Willingness to travel to job sites
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related software
- Knowledge of Hazard Communication, PPE usage, First Aid/CPR/AED, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Respiratory Protection, Silica, Trench Shoring, Mobile Cranes; OSHA Regulations
- Ability to conduct training and lead incident investigations
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Site safety policy development and regulatory compliance
