Job Summary
Oversee operational management of three children's homes, providing leadership to Registered Managers and ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015. Conduct regular audits of care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures while monitoring performance against budgets and objectives. Act as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders, including local authorities and health services, to represent the organization at inspections and build community partnerships. Lead staff recruitment, induction, and development, ensuring all teams are trained on therapeutic approaches and legal requirements. Manage financial parameters for each home and implement policies that promote the wellbeing and safety of young people in care.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in social work, childcare, or management (e.g., Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent)
- Significant experience in managing children's residential homes, including experience as a Registered Manager or Responsible Individual
- Thorough knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, and other statutory requirements
- Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and support staff teams
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience of working within safeguarding frameworks
- Experience of budget management and financial planning
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexibly, travel between sites, and respond to emergencies when required
