Job Summary
Senior Area Project Engineer Infrastructure responsible for planning, developing, and reviewing design work for Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) across large projects. Leads multi-discipline design efforts, coordinates with internal/external clients, reviews vendor data and design documents, and ensures compliance with regulations and BSAP/EDP standards. Develops conceptual designs for Civil/Structural, Architectural, Mechanical/Hydraulic, and Electrical components; conducts field investigations, prepares cost estimates and work plans, and participates in proposal/bid processes. Requires ability to coordinate external consultants, manage technical scope, and support in-person attendance at Brisbane-based offices/projects; role offers possible telework options as per Bechtel’s policy. Strong communication, analytical, and team leadership skills essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (or international equivalent)
- 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience
- Experience leading multi-discipline engineering design teams within minerals processing or EPC/EPCM environments
- Demonstrated experience in design of non-process infrastructure including civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical systems
- Working rights in Australia without employer sponsorship required
