Job Summary
Area Operations Manager responsible for Newcastle, Cumbria, and Dumfries regions. Lead shops with a visible, customer-first culture; coach and develop Team Leaders; drive high operational and compliance performance; implement strategies to meet KPIs across revenue, customer experience, and digital/sustainability initiatives. Accountable for regulatory standards, licensing, and safer gambling compliance; use data insights to translate strategy into actionable goals; partner with HR and Compliance to strengthen talent pipelines and ensure strong shop-level results. Hybrid working arrangement with up to 80% remote and 20% office time in the UK. Emphasizes change-focused, cross-site operational leadership across roughly 10+ stores and an average area footprint of around 17 shops.
Required Qualifications
- Area/regional operational leadership experience across a 10+ site retail footprint
- Strong commercial and operational performance with KPIs
- Deep compliance knowledge in Licensing, AML and Safer Gambling
- Employee relations and people leadership including coaching and ER case handling
- Ability to use data insights to drive performance and embed consistent operating methods
- Proven track record of implementing operational changes or improvement initiatives
- Collaboration with HR and Compliance to strengthen talent pipelines and regulatory standards
