Job Summary
Area Middle School Spanish Teacher to plan and deliver instructional instruction to diverse learners in alignment with district and state standards. The role involves teaching Spanish to middle school students, developing and delivering lesson plans with in-person and virtual learning, using internet and web-based technology for instruction, assessing and documenting student progress, communicating with district personnel, students, and parents, creating a conducive classroom environment, participating in student development conferences, and supervising paraprofessional staff. Special Education responsibilities include identifying educational needs, instructing students with varying exceptionalities, managing IEPs, and serving as case manager for students with disabilities. Requires collaboration with teachers, adherence to the Student Code of Conduct, and compliance with Georgia educator ethics. Qualifications include a Georgia teaching certificate, related subject endorsements (including ESOL & Gifted), CTAE prerequisites, GACE Ethics Assessment, and at least two years of verifiable industry experience or licensure.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university in the relevant educational field required.
- Valid Professional Standards Commission approved teaching certificate in the appropriate educational field required.
- Special Education: Special education teachers who issue grades must hold appropriate certification in service (e.g., Special Education, Adaptive curriculum, and/or Special Education General Curriculum), content certification areas and the educator's teaching assignment must align with the Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved teaching certificate.
- ESOL & Gifted: Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved subject-specific endorsements required.
- Career Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE): Minimum education requirements based on CTAE Specializations.
- Must pass the GACE Education Ethics Assessment
- Minimum two (2) years of verifiable industrial work experience o Industry licensure required
