Job Summary
Interrelated Social Studies/General Education teacher for 6th grade at Redan Middle School. Responsible for planning and delivering instruction aligned to district/state standards, delivering both in-person and virtual lessons, collaborating with team members, assessing student progress, and maintaining documentation such as attendance, progress reports, and IEP-related records. Requires excellent written and verbal communication, the ability to supervise and mentor paraprofessional staff, and adherence to professional ethics. Special Education responsibilities include identifying needs, implementing SDI, developing and maintaining IEPs, and collaborating with general education staff. ESOL & Gifted endorsements are required. Bachelor's degree and valid teaching certificate in the relevant field are required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant educational field
- Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission-approved teaching certificate
- Special Education certification or endorsement in related areas (e.g., adaptive curriculum, special education general curriculum)
- ESOL & Gifted endorsements as required by GCPS
