Job Summary
The Tool Room Area Manager is responsible for coordinating the efforts of Tool Room Team Members, including Tool and Die Makers and Machinists, ensuring product quality and quantity meet or exceed customer expectations. This role includes assigning duties, selecting and training team members, maintaining tool room equipment efficiency, conducting time and motion studies, and initiating cost-saving proposals. The position requires a background in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience and strong computer and organizational skills.
Required Qualifications
- Prefer College Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Prefer completion of a certified four (4) year apprentice program or eight (8) years' experience with hands-on working knowledge of tools and dies
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Engineering/Administrative field
- Ability to compile information and data in an orderly fashion
- Strong computer skills with good math and grammar capabilities
