Job Summary
Lead clinical and operational performance for 10–15 clinics, practicing medicine approximately 10 hours per week while setting quality and safety standards. Recruit, coach, and develop Center Medical Directors and providers to drive engagement and retention, managing patient flow, staffing models, and access. Own P&L performance through structured financial coaching and grow your market via occupational health and community partnerships. Report regularly to national leadership with autonomy to act on market data. This role is ideal for a clinician with 5+ years of acute/ambulatory experience and 2+ years in a medical director position, ready to build business acumen within Carbon Health's technology-enabled platform.
Required Qualifications
- Physician (MD/DO), Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant
- Active, unrestricted license as a Physician (MD/DO), Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant
- National certification as applicable
- BLS/ACLS required by start date
- DOT certification required
- 5+ years of clinical experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or a similar acute/ambulatory setting
- Comfortable treating patients of all ages
- 2+ years of demonstrated leadership as a medical director, lead clinician, site lead, or comparable role
- Exposure to the business side of medicine — schedules, staffing, metrics, or budgets
- Genuine curiosity to go deeper into the business side of medicine

- Judgment to manage ambiguity without waiting for perfect information
