Job Summary
Area Manager leads operational excellence, people development, and financial performance across multiple Steak n Shake locations. Requires multi-unit leadership, food safety certification, and proven capability in managing operations, labor, and guest satisfaction. Responsibilities center on sales and profit growth, leadership and development, brand and operational excellence, and maintaining high guest satisfaction while controlling costs. Travel between Pekin and other restaurant locations is required; role emphasizes coaching, strategic execution, and driving franchise-partner growth through strong store-level performance. The position reports with GMs to grow sales, profitability, and brand standards across the district.
Required Qualifications
- College degree preferred or equivalent leadership experience
- Multi-unit restaurant management experience required
- Food Safety Certification required
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations, food safety, sanitation, labor management, and financial controls
- Proven leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Demonstrated commitment to hospitality, operational excellence, and guest satisfaction
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between restaurant locations
