Job Summary
Lead all field construction activities within an assigned power block, managing subcontractors for civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation work. Ensure compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, and site safety policies while monitoring daily progress to meet schedule milestones. Conduct coordination meetings, resolve field issues and resource constraints, and verify manpower, equipment, and material readiness. Collaborate with engineering, quality, safety, procurement, and project controls teams to track metrics, report risks, and support change order evaluations. Participate in client meetings to update performance and progress. Requires 15+ years of construction experience with 10+ in supervisory roles, proficiency in construction management software, and ability to work in active outdoor environments.
Required Qualifications
- High school or GED
- Minimum 15+ years of construction experience
- At least 10 years in a supervisory or area management role
- Experience on power generation, combined-cycle, simple-cycle, renewable energy, industrial, or large-scale EPC projects
- Proven experience managing multiple union subcontractors in a complex construction environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural construction practices
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, schedules, and contracts
- Strong leadership, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software platforms
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse crews and subcontractor organizations
- Strong focus on safety, quality, and execution excellence
- Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced construction environment
- Effective conflict resolution and decision-making capabilities
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accountability
- Ability to work in active construction environments and outdoor conditions
- Frequent walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and navigating uneven terrain
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all site safety requirements
