Area Manager, Pellet Mill

Job Summary
Area Manager for a pellet mill focused on safe operations, meeting quality metrics and production targets. Responsibilities include developing and implementing SOPs, providing training to the team, maintaining a maintenance program and tooling budget, driving continuous improvement, staffing the area, and managing cost efficiency. The role requires leadership in a wood-process manufacturing environment, experience with lean principles and RCA, and strong communication skills to coordinate across operations, maintenance, and QA. The position entails working in outdoor industrial environments with exposure to extreme temperatures, and adherence to safety rules and PPE requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering degree preferred or 5 years in wood process manufacturing in lieu of degree
- 3-7 years working in a manufacturing environment
- 2 years leadership experience preferred
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical motors, pumps, fans, blowers, and conveyors desired
- Root cause analysis (RCA) required
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and process improvement techniques and principles required
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and other applications related to the job required
