Job Summary
Area Manager Operations, Production to lead offshore Terra Nova FPSO production activities. Responsible for supervising process operators, planning and coordinating all shift activities, and ensuring safe, efficient operations including control of work and field documentation. Troubleshoot plant issues to minimize downtime, identify process and facility improvement opportunities to enhance safety, reliability, and reduce costs. Collaborates closely with Maintenance and Vessel teams; conducts competency assessments of production operators; serves as a core member of the offshore emergency command team and participates in on-scene command. Location is offshore Terra Nova FPSO with a 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off schedule and 12-hour shifts. Requires Technologist diploma or trade certification and a High School Diploma with 5+ years in day-to-day oil/petrochemical operations; offshore experience preferred; familiarity with wells, subsea systems, flowlines, separation, compression, safety and utility systems; knowledge of DCS and safety systems; proficiency with CMMS (SAP S4, Enablon) and Control of Work processes.
Required Qualifications
- Technologist diploma or Trade certification
- High School Diploma
- 5 or more years experience in day to day operations in the oil/petrochemical industry
- Offshore experience preferred
- Understanding of wells, subsea systems, flowlines, separation, compression, safety systems and utility systems
- Working knowledge of Distributed Control Systems and computerized control/safety systems
- Thorough understanding of Control of Work Processes and Systems
- Familiar with computerized maintenance management systems (SAP S4, Field Operations and Enablon)
- Experience with operator field tools for monitoring operator PM’s and equipment logs
