Job Summary
Area Sales Manager responsible for driving profit growth in the district by developing and executing a district plan to maximize revenue, engaging with senior management across functions, forecasting monthly revenue, planning strategically with ROI-focused insights, leading district meetings, coaching sales engineers and technical service reps, ensuring new hires reach training standards, and working with large current and prospective customers to understand business needs. The role requires strong leadership, consultative sales skills, ability to travel (including up to 25% overnight), and a background in boilers, cooling towers, wastewater systems, or related industrial water treatment knowledge. Expect to collaborate across teams, contribute to market analytics, and advance strategic objectives within Nalco Water/Ecolab.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5 years leading and developing teams
- 5 years of successful technical sales or outside sales experience
- consultative sales experience
- ability to travel as required
- current and valid driver's license
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred) or Life Sciences (preferred) and MBA (preferred)
- experience calling on multi-level plant/facilities management and developing executive-level relationships
