Job Summary
Area Manager role overseeing Locate Supervisors with responsibilities including workload distribution, customer relations, and coordination with Corporate. Duties cover IT and purchasing in relation to homeowners and the public, disciplinary action, vehicle and equipment inspections, inventory ordering, mentoring for performance improvement, assisting in damage resolution, interpreting reports (PDR, audits, production), and supporting difficult locate jobs. Requires leadership in the locating industry, comprehensive understanding of underground utility construction and placement, completion of company Locate Technician training, and willingness to work long hours with possible weekends/holidays and some travel including overnight stays. Strong communications, computer skills, and ability to interact with diverse stakeholders (public, customers, contractors, utility representatives) are required. Three to five years of relevant experience is specified.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least eighteen years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Clean background check for access to restricted and/or controlled areas.
- Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass random drug screens and to remain drug free.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to locate.
- Ability to effectively perform a PDR or damage investigation.
- Ability to interact with all involved, the public, customers, contractors, utility representatives and all those under their direction.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
