Job Summary
Area Manager oversees workload distribution, customer relations, interaction with corporate, IT and purchasing along with homeowners and the general public, and conducts inspections of vehicles and equipment. Responsible for inventory ordering, mentoring Supervisors for performance improvement, assisting in damage resolution, interpreting reports (PDR, audits, production), and assisting in difficult locate jobs. Requires leadership experience in the locating industry, knowledge of underground utility construction and placement, and ability to perform PDR/damage investigations; travels with possible overnight stays and training. Strong communication skills at all levels and proficiency with computers are required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least eighteen years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clean background check for access to restricted and/or controlled areas
- Valid driver license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass random drug screens and to remain drug free
- Computer literate
- Ability to locate
- Ability to effectively perform a PDR or damage investigation
- Ability to interact with all involved, the public, customers, contractors, utility representatives and all those under their direction
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Three to five years� experience
- Experienced in effective leadership in the locating industry
- Excellent communications skills oral and written
- Comprehensive understanding of underground utility construction and placement required
- Successfully complete company provided Locate Technician training program and pass all required testing
- Requires long hours when necessary. May require weekend and holiday work when necessary
- Some travel maybe required including overnight stays and out of town assignments and/or training
- Must have above average computer skills
