Job Summary
Champion safety culture and lead operational oversight for overhead and underground utility construction projects across the Western United States. Manage a portfolio of power transmission and distribution programs, ensuring safe execution, schedule adherence, and profitability while maintaining full P&L responsibility. Conduct regular field visits to assess progress, optimize resource allocation, and support business development efforts with utility clients. Lead and mentor project managers and superintendents, maintain relationships with labor organizations, and drive continuous improvement in workforce planning and customer satisfaction. Travel regularly throughout the assigned territory to meet stakeholders and ensure successful project delivery.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in utility construction, power delivery, or related infrastructure industries
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple utility construction projects and operational teams
- Strong knowledge of electric transmission and distribution systems, including overhead and underground construction
- Experience managing project financials, budgets, forecasting, and profit and loss responsibility
- Proven ability to lead large teams in a unionized environment
- Strong business acumen, strategic planning, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management abilities
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the assigned region
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting major utility clients such as San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) or other investor-owned utilities
- Experience managing EPC, transmission, distribution, grid modernization, or utility infrastructure programs
- Leadership training and demonstrated success in developing high-performing teams
