Job Summary
Conduct daily supervision of school bus drivers and manage transportation logistics for the school board. Maintain a safe driving record and possess a valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License with School Bus and Air Brakes endorsements. Oversee team performance, ensure compliance with state safety regulations, and communicate effectively with employees and the public. Complete Level 2 background screening and adhere to strict driving history requirements. This role supports the district's transportation operations within the School Board.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited college or university with an Associates Degree or five (5) years experience in Transportation Management or have eight (8) years experience in a Transportation related field, with a minimum of five (5) of those years as a school bus driver
- Must have a safe driving history prior to employment
- Must maintain a safe driving record during employment
- Must have the ability to work in harmony with other School Board employees and the general public
- Must be skilled in written and oral communications
- Must possess outstanding people skills
- Must successfully have or obtain a valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License with Air Brakes, Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) Endorsements appropriate for the vehicle/equipment assigned, and any other Florida License as required within the first 6 months of employment
- Possess previous supervisory or leadership experience
- All prospective employees must submit to a Level 2 background check pursuant to Florida State Statute 435.04 and be found eligible by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
