Job Summary
Area Manager Environmental at CMC leads development and implementation of environmental programs, ensures regulatory compliance across steel mill and two affiliate locations, secures permits, maintains environmental records and reporting, provides environmental input on projects, develops staff training, and evaluates environmental liabilities for acquisitions and property transactions. Requires five years of environmental-management experience, familiarity with major environmental laws (Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, CERCLA), experience managing air pollutants and hazardous wastes, strong writing and computer skills, and a bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or law.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of prior experience with environmental management or similar
- Demonstrated familiarity with environmental laws and related regulations including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act (CWA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA)
- Demonstrated experience in management of major source of air pollutants
- Demonstrated experience with management of hazardous wastes
- Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or law from an accredited university
- Excellent writing and computer skills including email and Microsoft software products (e.g., Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
