Job Summary
Area Manager overseeing a team of Package Handlers and Lead Package Handlers in the Chicago area facility, responsible for managing sort activities and volume, ensuring quality and safety, monitoring progress, providing feedback, and driving improvements in efficiency and operational outcomes within the assigned area.
Required Qualifications
- GED/Diploma required
- college degree in related discipline preferred
- minimum of 2 years of industry experience (logistics, shipping, 3PL)
- at least 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience
- Ability to effectively evaluate and summarize data and present answers
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office and mathematical skills
- Effective communication skills including the ability to give honest, constructive feedback
- Experience with hiring, training, motivation, disciplining, and completing performance evaluations for employees
- Basic English language proficiency (spoken and written) required for understanding safety and operational instructions in a fast-paced warehouse environment
