Job Summary
Area Manager Biomedical Services oversees Technical Services for an area (typically 10–25 clinics, 7–15 exempt/non-exempt staff) and ensures safe operation and regulatory compliance of water treatment, dialysis, and related equipment. Responsibilities include managing repairs and maintenance of equipment and facilities, maintaining inventory and warranty parts, ensuring data integrity in management systems, piloting new processes, coordinating with Quality/Education personnel, supporting QAPI, coordinating vendor service contracts, recruiting and mentoring Technical Supervisors/Technicians, maintaining training records, conducting annual performance evaluations, and collaborating with Operations on capital equipment, relocations/DeNovos, and facility integration. Requires supervisory experience, strong technical aptitude in biomedical/electronics, regulatory knowledge (OSHA/compliance), and the ability to travel as needed. Education includes a High School diploma or GED, with an AA in electronics/biomedical technology preferred and related certifications within 24 months.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- AA degree in electronics/biomedical technology, or equivalent preferred
- Biomedical Technician Technical Certification within 24 months of employment required
- Nephrology/Biomedical Industry Technical Certification within 24 months of employment preferred (BONENT/CHT/NNCO/CBNT/CBET/WQA/AAMI certifications)
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to use hand tools and small power equipment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- English proficiency
- Ishihara color blindness test as a condition of employment
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
- Overnight travel may be required
