Job Summary
Manage and staff a team of Package Handlers and Lead Package Handlers in an assigned area to ensure quality standards and a safe, efficient working environment. Conduct pre-sort meetings to communicate daily goals, upcoming events, and safety priorities while monitoring employee progress and addressing performance or attendance issues. Record and manage departures, arrivals, and volume flow from designated Linehauls, and execute administrative duties including safety training, operational audits, and end-of-shift reporting. Execute various administrative duties, including but not limited to, safety training, operational audits, and end of shift reporting.
Required Qualifications
- GED/Diploma
- BA/BS college degree in related discipline
- 2 years of industry experience
- 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience
- Ability to effectively evaluate and summarize data and present answers to questions
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft office and mathematical skills
- Effective communication skills including the ability to give honest, constructive feedback
- Experience with hiring, training, motivating, disciplining, and completing performance evaluations for employees
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to support 24-hour operations, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays when needed
- Ability to stay dependable and adaptable as business needs, staffing needs, and workload shifts
