Job Summary
Area Manager responsible for managing all sort activities and volume within an assigned area at the Upper Marlboro facility, leading a team of Package Handlers and Lead Package Handlers, conducting pre-sort meetings, ensuring safety and quality standards, and driving performance improvements. Requires leadership experience, data-evaluation ability, and strong communication skills to coach staff, oversee staffing and scheduling, and manage operational audits and shift reporting.
Required Qualifications
- GED/Diploma required
- college degree in related discipline preferred
- minimum of 2 years of industry experience (e.g., logistics, shipping, 3PL)
- at least 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience
- Ability to effectively evaluate and summarize data and present answers to questions
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office and mathematical skills
- Effective communication skills including the ability to give honest, constructive feedback
- Experience with hiring, training, motivating, disciplining, and completing performance evaluations for employees
- Basic English language proficiency (spoken and written) for safety and operational instructions
