Job Summary
Area Manager overseeing a 2nd shift in a manufacturing/factory setting. Responsibilities include ensuring safety, quality and production goals on the shop floor; driving root-cause analysis to prevent non-conforming parts; auditing team performance; coordinating manufacturing activity; setting up procedures for process control; cross-training team members to create multi-functional employees; coaching and disciplining as needed; assisting with overtime scheduling and die-set logistics; gathering and analyzing MOS information; supporting MPS initiatives to reduce cost or increase area performance; scheduling shift production and reviewing time cards; attending production, safety, quality, and current events meetings; enforcing housekeeping and quality standards per the quality department; performing other essential functions as assigned; and maintaining employee relations and safety standards in a normal factory environment with hazards from machinery and fumes.
Required Qualifications
- Training and experience: Prefer high school diploma, technical background or the equivalent.
- Need at least one year experience on the floor, good supervisory skills, and need to be cross-trained and know all jobs well.
- SPECIAL SKILLS: Computer skills, good verbal and written communication skills.
