Job Summary
Area I Teacher (Second Grade) responsibilities include planning and delivering grade-level instruction aligned to district standards, using in-person and virtual methods, and promoting high academic expectations. The role requires collaboration with team members, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to manage classrooms while employing instructional practices to support diverse learners, including those with special needs. The position involves creating a safe, engaging environment, using technology for instruction, preparing reports on student progress, and participating in student achievement conferences with parents and staff. For Special Education, duties include identifying needs, providing SDI, developing and implementing IEPs, serving as case manager for students with disabilities, adhering to state/federal guidance, differentiating instruction, and collaborating with general education teachers to support IEP goals and related service delivery. The qualifications specify a Bachelor's degree, a valid teaching certificate, ESOL and Gifted endorsements, and CTCAE-related requirements including industry experience and licensure. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission-approved accredited college or university in the relevant educational field
- Valid Professional Standards Commission-approved teaching certificate in the appropriate educational field
- Special Education: certification in service (e.g., special education, adaptive curriculum, and/or special education general curriculum); content certification areas and the educator's teaching assignment must align with the Georgia Professional Standards Commission-approved teaching certificate
- ESOL & Gifted: Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission-approved subject-specific endorsements
- Career Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE): Minimum education requirements based on CTAE Specializations; pass the GACE Education Ethics Assessment; minimum two (2) years of verifiable industrial work experience; industry licensure
