Job Summary
ELA Teacher to deliver district curriculum in-person and via virtual learning; develop and implement lesson plans and activities aligned with district curriculum; communicate with district personnel, students, and parents; create an in-person and virtual classroom environment conducive to learning; use internet and web-based technology for instruction and collaboration; assess and report student progress; participate in conferences with parents, students, counselors, teachers, principals, and administrators; direct paraprofessional support as needed; maintain regular attendance. Special Education responsibilities include identifying educational needs for students with varying exceptionalities, providing instruction per IEPs, serving as case manager for students with disabilities, and facilitating IEP meetings, while adhering to Georgia educator ethics. Qualifications require a Bachelor’s degree, PSC teaching certificate, and endorsements/certifications for ESOL, Gifted, and CTAE where applicable, plus GACE Ethics Assessment and at least two years of verifiable industry work experience or licensure.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a Georgia PSC approved accredited college or university in the relevant educational field
- Valid Professional Standards Commission approved teaching certificate in the appropriate educational field
- Special Education: appropriate certification in service (e.g., Special Education, Adaptive curriculum, and/or Special Education General Curriculum), content certification areas and alignment with PSC approved teaching certificate
- ESOL & Gifted: Valid PSC approved subject-specific endorsements required
- Career Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE): Minimum education requirements based on CTAE Specializations
- Must pass the GACE Education Ethics Assessment
- Minimum two (2) years of verifiable industrial work experience or Industry licensure required
