Job Summary
Develop strategic plans for optimized performance and oversee employees to establish a motivational work environment. Interview, select, train, and manage Driver Managers and Supervisors while ensuring all personnel are trained according to operational procedures. Monitor on-time performance using real-time data, review electronic or paper DOT logs, and investigate feedback regarding safe operational practices. Ensure drivers adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and DOT/FMCSA standards, including proper credentialing and uniform requirements. Address personnel matters by working with HR, maintaining labor relations, enforcing the CBA, and determining appropriate disciplinary actions or termination.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in operations leadership
- Ability to analyze data, generate reports, and make data-driven decisions
- Ability to exercise considerable diplomacy, judgment, and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships and discretion with the company and union officials
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel, Windows applications, e-mail etc.
- Ability to travel as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Safety and Workers Compensation, Labor relations, and CBA experience preferred
