Job Summary
Lead spiritual development, leadership training, and direct ministry for adolescents across 27 school districts in Gloucester County, NJ. Oversee and train over 20 leaders while managing finances, donor records, and strategic planning. Conduct weekly contact work, club meetings, and campaigner sessions, plus lead summer and school-season camping strategies. Serve on a summer assignment at a Young Life camp annually. Maintain accurate data on kids, leaders, and donors using mission-wide applications. Complete core training phases including spiritual disciplines, apologetics, and leadership courses within two years. Must reside in or relocate to Gloucester County.
Required Qualifications
- Must live in or be willing to move to Gloucester County, NJ
- Experience in direct ministry
- Proven relational skills with both kids and adults
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work closely with a vibrant committee and strong area admin
- Must demonstrate spiritual leadership
- Organizational skills
- Must have the skilled needed to supervise and train others
- Must profess a belief in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord
- Must subscribe to the statements and policies required of all Young Life staff, including the Young Life Statement of Faith
- Must be ready, willing and able to fulfill such ministry functions as may be required by the organization
- Must refrain from conduct and statements that detract from the biblical standards taught and supported by Young Life
- Must abide by all policies and practices of Young Life including, without limitation, those related to religious belief or ministry activities
- Must be able to lead teams and individuals in spiritual development
- Must be able to oversee, lead and train over 20 leaders
- Must be able to recruit and train new leaders to the existing ministries and to start new ministries
- Must be able to model excellence in contact work, club, campaigners and camping to other leaders
- Must be able to actively engage in all three levels of contact work
- Must be able to lead a team to plan and conduct a new or existing Young Life club and Campaigners/discipleship ministry with excellence
- Must be able to lead a team to implement a summer and school-season camping strategy for a ministry
- Must be able to serve on a summer assignment at a Young Life camp each year
- Must be able to adhere to all Young Life policies and procedures
- Must be able to maintain professionalism concerning office hours, dress, conduct and time management
- Must be able to manage finances with stewardship, accountability and transparency using the mission-wide applications
- Must be able to maintain accurate information on kids, leaders and donors for area records
- Must be able to provide clear, prompt, appropriate and professional communication to everyone involved in ministry
- Must be able to set yearly strategic ministry plan and initiatives to reach every kid
- Must be able to review them on a regular basis
