Job Summary
Area Director – DD/IDD Services leads all residential programs and services across the assigned geographic region, providing leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight to ensure high‐quality services for individuals with disabilities while supporting operational growth and new business opportunities. Responsibilities include leadership development, budget management, licensing, compliance oversight, policy development, program performance, marketing, and proposal preparation. The role requires collaboration with Area Managers, Program Directors, state management, and external stakeholders, with emphasis on leadership, compliance, financial performance, and growth initiatives aligned to residential IDD/DD services. Education and experience prerequisites include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of relevant experience, plus 2+ years of leadership experience; travel is involved for regional coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field (psychology, counseling, sociology, allied health, or human services)
- 5+ years of experience within residential IDD/DD services, group homes, or community-based programs
- 2+ years of leadership experience overseeing multiple programs/sites or leadership teams
- Knowledge of person-centered supports, residential operations, Medicaid/CIH Waiver services, and compliance standards
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record meeting agency insurance requirements
