Job Summary

Supervise up to seventeen undergraduate Resident Assistants by conducting weekly staff meetings, bi-weekly one-on-ones, and creating duty schedules. Oversee all departmental programming, including Resident Assistant programming approval, alignment with the department model, and purchasing needs. Create and implement a bi-annual RA Training schedule while assisting with session hosting. Assist in resolving disputes, providing support and referrals to residential students, and serve as a Student Conduct Officer managing lower-level violations and enforcing the Housing Contract using Maxient. Participate in the 24/7/365 on-call rotation for crisis response, working cooperatively with Public Safety, Counseling, and Student Health Services. Provide quality customer service to students, parents, and constituents while supporting initiatives like Housing Selection and Break Closings. Be available for all-hands-on-deck times throughout the year, including opening/closing events and high-traffic weekends.

Required Qualifications

  • Masters degree (preferably in social work, higher education, education or counseling)
  • Two years' experience working on a college campus as a student or employee
  • Two years' experience in Residence Life as a student or employee
  • Evidence of experience with mediation, intervention, conflict management and problem solving in a residential setting
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Able to function independently while operating effectively within a team environment
  • Possess solid general computer skills, including ability to work in a Windows environment
  • Excellent oral and written skills and ability to communicate comfortably with students, colleagues, and external constituents
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex and multiple tasks in a professional and efficient manner
  • Exhibits a high level of professionalism, leadership, creative problem solving, diplomacy, negotiation and sales skills, and the ability to manage complex projects with minimal supervision
  • Professional, courteous demeanor and appearance; ability to engage positively and work professionally with students, faculty, staff and administration and represent the University professionally to the public
