Job Summary
Area Chief of Staff Veterinarian leads, develops, and manages associate veterinarians across hospitals to attract, develop, engage, and retain doctors delivering quality care. Drives culture and delivery of quality care by the veterinary provider team, aligning with Banfield's six domains of quality. Partners with Practice Manager to recruit and engage doctors, oversee medical leadership, ensure compliance with clinical standards, and drive hospital performance KPIs. The role is 100% hospital-based and a working manager position, with responsibilities spanning medical leadership, staff engagement, quality assurance (medical records reviews, audits, patient safety event reviews), and collaboration with the Director of Veterinary Quality and Talent Acquisition to recruit veterinary talent. Requires Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent, state licensure, and a minimum of 3 years of experience in small animal medicine and surgery.
