Job Summary

Conduct developmental conversations with direct reports, interview and train Asset Protection talent, and actively coach associates on the floor to enhance sales and profits. Proactively identify theft and fraud by observing activity and reviewing exception reports, then interview suspects and document all stages in accordance with company policies. Partner with local law enforcement and mall security to track Organized Retail Crime patterns, attend hearings, and update files with court outcomes. Tailor Asset Protection direction to specific stores, audit departments for merchandise protection adherence, and coach teams on shrinkage reduction and safety initiatives. Maintain relationships with external partners and ensure all documentation remains complete and accurate per policy.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to conduct developmental conversations with direct reports
  • Ability to maintain notes and observations of strengths and opportunities
  • Ability to interview, hire, and train Asset Protection talent
  • Ability to ensure Asset Protection team follows Asset Protection Directives, policies and procedures
  • Ability to actively walk the floor and coach in the moment
  • Ability to advise Store/District Leadership Teams
  • Ability to proactively identify potential acts of theft and fraud
  • Ability to observe associate and customer activity
  • Ability to review exception reports and investigation referrals
  • Ability to interview associates suspected of theft or fraud
  • Ability to properly document all stages of investigations
  • Ability to review and ensure Asset Protection documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained per Company policy and procedure
  • Ability to communicate external theft trends to associates
  • Ability to partner with other locations/retailers to identify Organized Retail Crime (ORC) groups and patterns
  • Ability to gather evidence on ORC and external fraud
  • Ability to attend hearings as required
  • Ability to update appropriate files with court-related outcomes
  • Ability to create and maintain relationship with local law enforcement and mall security partners
  • Ability to review reports of external apprehensions, internal investigations, incident reports, PCI, PII and Sales Audit documentation
  • Ability to tailor company Asset Protection direction to particular stores
  • Ability to create new ways to educate and motivate store teams to focus on shrinkage reduction and safety
  • Ability to coach store associates on keeping work areas and sales floor free of hazards
  • Ability to maintain inventory maintenance process
  • Ability to periodically audit departments for merchandise protection standard adherence
  • Ability to identify merchandise protection opportunities that deviate from company standards
  • Ability to model, coach, and hold team accountable for outstanding customer service
  • Ability to lead the Manager on Duty (MOD) program
  • Ability to observe, engage, and coach in the moment to enhance each manager's and supervisor's ability to execute and develop their own respective teams
  • Ability to ensure associates are focused on the right priorities
  • Ability to source and screen talent
  • Ability to proactively partner with store leadership to deliver consistent and effective hiring processes
  • Ability to oversee store payroll and other payroll functions
  • Ability to ensure associates receive appropriate pay for hours worked
  • Ability to ensure CES schedules and conducts new hire orientation
  • Ability to ensure training is delivered by the appropriate leader
  • Ability to schedule talent and resources to help achieve profit expense targets
  • Ability to effectively deliver exceptional service

  • Ability to oversee all pricing and signing processes
