Job Summary
Plans and delivers educational instruction to diverse learners in line with state and district standards, creating a safe, engaging learning environment that promotes academic success; teaches grade-relevant curriculum with in-person and virtual delivery; communicates with district personnel, students, and parents; supervises student behavior and manages classroom operations; directs paraprofessional support; Special Education responsibilities include identifying needs, delivering SDI, developing and implementing IEPs, serving as case manager, and coordinating IEP meetings; develops data-informed progress reports and collaborates with general education teachers to address varied needs and ensure appropriate accommodations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an education field from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission-approved college or university
- Valid Professional Standards Commission-approved teaching certificate in the appropriate educational field
- Special Education certification or endorsement alignment with IEP responsibilities (e.g., Special Education, Adaptive Curriculum, and/or Special Education General Curriculum)
- ESOL & Gifted endorsements required
- CTA E (Career Technical and Agricultural Education) requirements as applicable, including GACE Education Ethics assessment and relevant industry experience where required
