Area 3 Elementary School_ Teacher, Grade 1 (Chapel Hill ES) 2026-2027

Area 3 Elementary School Teacher responsibilities include planning and delivering instruction to first-grade students both in-person and virtually, creating engaging lessons that align with district standards, and maintaining a learning environment that supports academic achievement, physical fitness, and global citizenship. The role requires collaboration with colleagues, effective written and verbal communication with students, families, and district personnel, and supervision of paraprofessional staff. The teacher will assess progress, document outcomes, and prepare reports; manage student behavior per the Student Code of Conduct; participate in conferences, attend professional development sessions, and fulfill duties such as ordering materials and supporting IEP case management for students with disabilities. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, a valid teaching certificate, required endorsements (ESOL & Gifted, Special Education as applicable), GACE Education Ethics, and a minimum of two years of verifiable industrial work experience or licensure.
