Job Summary
Teach 4th grade and deliver curriculum to diverse learners, including those with special needs, in line with state/district standards. Plan and deliver instruction, develop and implement lesson plans for in-person and virtual learning, and use technology to provide instruction and collaboration. Communicate with district personnel, students, and parents; maintain an engaging classroom environment and assess/report student progress. Supervise paraprofessional or instructional aide when needed; participate in student development and achievement conferences. Maintain regular attendance. Special Education responsibilities include identifying educational needs, providing instruction per IEPs, serving as case manager for students with disabilities, developing/ revising IEPs with SDI and accommodations, differentiating instruction, collaborating with general education teachers, and creating Behavior Intervention Plans. Requires Bachelor's degree, valid teaching certificate, and specialized certifications/endorsements as outlined (Special Education, ESOL, Gifted; CTAE/industry experience and ethics assessment). Position may involve in-person and virtual instruction as part of the instructional program.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university in the relevant educational field required.
- Valid Professional Standards Commission approved teaching certificate in the appropriate educational field required.
- Special Education: Special education teachers who issue grades must hold appropriate certification in service (e.g., Special Education, Adaptive curriculum, and/or Special Education General Curriculum), content certification areas and the educator's teaching assignment must align with the Georgia
- ESOL & Gifted: Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved subject-specific endorsements required.
- Career Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE): Minimum education requirements based on CTAE Specializations; Must pass the GACE Education Ethics Assessment; Minimum two (2) years of verifiable industrial work experience; Industry licensure required.
