Job Summary
Idlewood Elementary School is seeking a 3rd grade Teacher to implement and promote high academic expectations and deliver instruction across in-person and virtual formats. Responsibilities include teaching grade-level curriculum, developing and implementing lesson plans, communicating with district personnel, students, and parents, creating a conducive learning environment, using internet and web-based tools for instruction, assessing and reporting student progress, supervising classroom behavior, participating in student-conference activities with families and staff, attending professional development, and guiding paraprofessionals. Special Education responsibilities include identifying needs, providing SDI, managing IEPs, serving as case manager for students with disabilities, collaborating with general education staff, and developing Behavior Intervention Plans. Requires a Bachelor's degree, valid Georgia teaching certificate, and appropriate endorsements (Special Education, ESOL, Gifted). The role emphasizes differentiating instruction, data collection to monitor IEP goals, and adherence to state and federal guidance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Georgia-approved) in relevant educational field
- Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission teaching certificate
- Special Education certification aligned with service/content areas and IEP responsibilities
- Endorsements in ESOL and Gifted as required by Georgia PSC
- CTA E specialization requirements and GACE Education Ethics Assessment (for CTAE roles)
- Minimum two (2) years verifiable industrial work experience for CTAE path
- Ability to develop and implement SDI and accommodations per IEPs and state/federal guidance
- Ability to create standards-based, differentiated instruction and to collaborate with general education teachers
- Experience developing, writing, and revising IEPs and participating in IEP meetings
- Follows Georgia educator ethics and Professional Standards
