Job Summary
Generate a database of reactions and byproducts for key semiconductor manufacturing processes. Develop state-of-the-art analytical and functional test methods to validate reaction models and discover new process applications. Conduct DOE studies to improve process efficiencies and elucidate reaction mechanisms while supporting the qualification of new chemicals. Provide regular updates on technical trends and roadmaps for customers, present research papers at international conferences, and generate IP by filing patent applications. Train engineers on process impacts and prepare materials for customer technical reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with semiconductor processes and characterization techniques
- MS or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with multiple metrology and structure characterization techniques such as mechanical testing, electron microscopy, Electron spectroscopy, Atomic Force microscopy, contact angle measurements, etc.
- Experience with design of experiment (DOE) and other statistical methods
- Familiarity on semiconductor manufacturing equipment such as wet or dry cleaning / wet etching, lithography & track
- Strong analytical skills
- Detail orientation and excellent adherence to scientific method
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently and cross-functionally
- Open-minded, resourceful, flexible, and adaptable
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience with developing chemistries for etch processes and wet cleans is highly desirable
- Experience in literature searching of patentability and freedom to operate is highly desirable
