Architecture - Quality Control Manager

Job Summary

Conduct quality reviews of drawings, specifications, reports, and consultant deliverables to ensure completeness, coordination, constructability, and compliance with codes and client requirements. Identify and resolve technical deficiencies, inconsistencies, and interdisciplinary conflicts while providing guidance on best practices and risk management. Develop and improve the firm's QA/QC program, standards, and tools. Assist with employee training and prepare project specifications. Work in-office at least four days per week with one remote day.

Required Qualifications

  • Exceptional technical knowledge of architectural construction documentation and building systems
  • Strong understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, accessibility requirements, life-safety requirements, and industry standards
  • Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials, detailing, and specifications
  • Extensive knowledge of retail and restaurant project delivery
  • Strong understanding of CSI MasterFormat specifications
  • Through understanding of civil, structural, mechanical and electrical systems
  • Ability to identify coordination issues and technical risks before project issuance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback while fostering positive working relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple reviews and deadlines simultaneously
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities
  • Thorough understanding of quality management principles and continuous improvement processes
  • Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Maintains a professional presence during virtual meetings
  • Ability to work in-office at least 4 days per week, with 1 remote day
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
  • Registered Architect
  • Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible experience in an architectural practice
  • Extensive experience producing and reviewing construction documents
  • Demonstrated experience with quality assurance, quality control, code compliance, and technical review processes
  • Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary consultant teams
  • Experience with commercial, retail, restaurant, mixed-use, institutional, healthcare, or similar project types
  • CSI certifications
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to work in-office at least 4 days per week, with 1 remote day
  • Must maintain a professional presence during virtual meetings
  • Must comply with all Company and client on-site safety policies and procedures
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight
  • Must have visual acuity within normal range with or without correction
  • Must have hearing within normal range with or without correction
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces
  • Must be able to stoop, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting
  • Must be able to operate office and field equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine motor coordination
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing

Desired Qualifications

  • Registered Architect preferred
  • Experience with commercial, retail, restaurant, mixed-use, institutional, healthcare, or similar project types preferred
  • CSI certifications are a plus
